Spiders in Central Florida
Florida is home to over 50 species of spiders, most of which are harmless but unwelcome. However, two medically significant species, the black widow and brown recluse, are found in Central Florida and require immediate professional attention.
Spiders typically move indoors following their prey, other insects. A significant spider population often indicates an underlying insect problem. Pest Pro's approach addresses both the spiders and the conditions that attract them.
Common Species We Treat
- Black Widow. Shiny black with a red hourglass marking. Venom is medically significant. Found in garages, sheds, woodpiles.
- Brown Recluse. Tan/brown with a violin-shaped marking. Bite can cause serious tissue damage. Found in dark, undisturbed areas.
- Orb Weavers. Large, dramatic webs on exterior. Not dangerous but alarming.
- Wolf Spiders. Large, fast-moving. Common in homes and garages.
- Cellar Spiders "Daddy long-legs." Common in basements, garages, and undisturbed areas.
Our Treatment Process
Spider treatment includes web removal, targeted perimeter treatment, interior crack and crevice treatment, and reduction of harborage areas. We also identify and treat the underlying insect activity that's attracting spiders to your property.
